CEVA signs a three year warehousing contract with BIC in Iberia
Madrid, Spain, 24 May 2013 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has signed a new contract with BIC, a leader in the manufacture of simple and reliable stationery products, lighters and shavers.
Under the contract, which commenced in September 2012, CEVA will provide BIC with logistics solutions for the Iberian market. This will involve the handling and storage of BIC’s products in Spain and Portugal at CEVA’s hub located in Ontigola, Toledo.
CEVA will provide BIC with its expertise and project management capabilities in order to improve the customer’s warehousing activities, focusing on reduction of inventory, optimizing lead times and improving their order accuracy. CEVA will use its innovative technological solutions, CEVA Matrix™, a suite of information technology systems that support the complete end-to-end supply chain ensuring maximum flexibility and real time visibility of inventory. The CEVA Matrix™ Warehouse Management System (WMS) will guarantee the efficient management of all aspects of warehouse planning and operations.
David Cabero, General Manager Spain and Portugal of BIC, said: "BIC has decided to locate a warehouse in Spain to be closer to our customers and further improve their service levels. CEVA was selected by this multinational Group to handle the warehousing services for BIC both in Spain and Portugal.”
