CEVA wins Logistics Company of the Year for the eighth time in Italy

Milan, Italy 21 October, 2017 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s largest supply chain management companies, has won the title of Logistics Company of the Year in Italy for the eighth time. Awarded by Assologistica, the leading Italian association of logistics companies the trophy recognized CEVA's focus on people and innovation.

CEVA's win in 2017 recognized two aspects of its business, firstly its Talent Program and second for its links with ITS (Institute Tecnico Superiore)  in Taranto. The Talent Program is dedicated to CEVA’s staff who contribute to the strategic development of the company. This time, they worked on the study and the implementation of four distinct projects: 1) Innovative and cost-effective eCommerce operating models 2)  Customer Care program 3) Dynamic and predictive systems optimization  and 4) Paperless processes in transport .

The second aspect aims to fill a gap in the skills market between now and 2020 : CEVA has become a founding partner of ITS in Taranto.  ITS is the first technical institute in the south of Italy dedicated to infomobility and infrastructure management. Working in collaboration with the Politecnico of Bari, CEVA has  contributed to the identification of professional profiles, and led the design and delivery of training courses to the students and offering internships at CEVA.

Ilaria D'Aquila, VP Human Resources at CEVA in Italy says: "It is a real honor to receive the Logistics Company of the Year award when it is dedicated to our most important asset, our people. To continue to grow our business, it’s crucial to have a strategic vision of tomorrow's skills to ensure the professionalism that our customers require and at the same time engage our talent in the company's business strategy which is developing primarily through ongoing innovation”.

The Assologistica awards are now in their eleventh year and considered the most prestigious logistics accolade in Italy.Previous awards which CEVA won covered a wide range of its Italian operations including: in 2010 for its City of Books facility, in 2011 for the Milan Control Tower, in 2012 for its Airport Project, in 2013 for its City of Pharma, in 2014 for TechCity, in 2015 for TireCity and in 2016 for its Smartphone App solution.
