Acting for Planet
Contributing to a business model that respects the environment and natural resourcesIn line with our parent company, CMA CGM Group, we are committed to a net zero carbon target of 2050. We are responsible for decarbonizing our own assets, as well as encouraging our suppliers and subcontractors to invest in the technologies of tomorrow. To achieve this, we have three main decarbonization levers: our warehouses, our fleet and our low carbon solutions.

Key Achievements 2024
CEVA earned a Gold Medal and an overall score of 76/100 from EcoVadis in its 2024 sustainability performance assessment—placing CEVA in the top 1% overall for the logistics industry. We increased our energy efficiency plan with 100% LED lighting across all our facilities in Latin America and added additional new solar photovoltaic projects in Europe, Latin America and Australia. In 2024, CEVA avoided more than 26,000 tons of emissions thanks to using more than 10 million liters of sustainable maritime and aviation fuel and in 2024, CEVA's recycling services for packaging avoided more than 19 tons of plastic.

CEVA | FORPLANET
As part of our CSR commitment to “Acting for Planet,” we are taking the next step in our journey to net zero by through our new sub-brand—CEVA FORPLANET—to highlight and further develop our sustainable logistics solutions. CEVA FORPLANET focuses on two main areas: low carbon transport and promoting circular economies.
Our Low Carbon Solutions
We support our clients towards the decarbonization of their transport
- Measurement: We provide layers of visibility at all stages of the logistical operations, all the way from pre-booking to delivery. The myCEVA digital platform provides an assessment of expected CO2e emissions for each transport request, analyzing transportation modes and carrier options. The myCEVA platform provides extensive end-to-end reporting on the carbon footprint of every delivery.
- Optimization: We support your decarbonization efforts through redesigning your supply chain to optimize flows, loading and routing. We provide solutions to mutualize shipments through shared FCL containers. Thanks to advanced technology, we provide thorough, real-time assessments to determine the best routing options, balancing transit time, carbon emissions and cost.

- Shift: We reduce transport carbon emissions through three main levers:
- Modal shift: We co-develop together solutions that combine significant carbon reductions, attractive “cost/transit time” balance and reliability.
- Intra-modal shift: We enable carrier reallocation to shift to a more CO2e efficient transport by adjusting the vessel type, type of fuel and many other variables.
- Alternative fuel: We provide cleaner technologies to reduce carbon emissions such as our AIRsaf (sustainable aviation fuel), SEAlternative (sustainable maritime fuel) and ROADalternative (biofuel, electrification) options.
Our Warehouses
We aim to improve the environmental performance of our warehouses by implementing a range of solutions, including:
- Photovoltaic panels
- LED lighting
- Lithium-ion battery handling equipment
- Low carbon electricity
In addition, we act to reduce energy consumption on all our sites, as well as increasing employee awareness.

Preserving Biodiversity
CEVA Logistics seeks to minimize the environmental impact of its activities on wildlife, flora and natural resources, especially at sites with high biodiversity value. Over 40 CEVA sites worldwide are already implementing local action plans thanks to the commitment and best practices shared by a network of biodiversity ambassadors. Using this approach, CEVA aims to:
-
Educate employees on biodiversity issues in the areas surrounding their workplaces. Several reforestation actions have led to the planting of 46,987 trees and mangroves.
-
Measure the ‘ecological potential’ score of sites to track progress on the impact of local action plans. Thanks to the recommendations of ecologists, more than 325 trees and 30,000 m2 of native plants and meadows were planted.
-
Assist priority sites in implementing proper management of green spaces without the use of phytosanitary products and giving way to biodiversity in high-stake areas. More than 95,500 m2 of green spaces are already managed ecologically and without pesticides.
Several CEVA sites in France are certified BiodiverCity® by the IBPC. This innovative approach combines ecology and construction to create buildings that prioritize nature in urban environments. Additionally, Singapore’s Blue Hub is the first site in Asia to receive this certification, thanks to best practices like advanced energy management system with IoT for predictive building analytics, vegetated and landscaped terraces and roof, a rainwater recycling system and a photoelectric sensor to collect daylight.
Circular Economy
Packaging is a key resource in the logistics industry. We aim to reduce waste throughout all aspects in the logistics cycle. Our on-site initiatives have led to an overall 75% recycling rate. We use less harmful materials in our packaging, replacing plastic adhesive tape with paper tape and deploying reusable cardboard packaging in the cushioning thanks to box shredders in our facilities. Our customers also have access to reusable packaging solutions for their local or international flows, reducing significantly waste and carbon emissions.
Water
To reduce our environmental impact, we have adopted a plan to conserve and sustainably manage water consumption throughout our logistics, including:
- Mapping of CEVA water consumption landscape
- Auditing water consumption to identify areas to improve
- Taking corrective actions such as eliminating leaks, installing water-saving equipment and raising user awareness, all leading to a significant reduction in water consumption.
Our Fleet
We are investing in low carbon trucks for its own fleet, aiming to reach 1,450 low carbon vehicles by 2025. We subcontract most of our road business, selecting our carriers based on operational and environmental performance.
We use alternative fuels to start reducing carbon emissions immediately. Around 45% of the total fuel for the fleet in the UK is biodiesel (HVO), which reduces emissions by 90% compared to regular diesel. We partner with Toyota Europe to test battery-powered heavy-duty hydrogen trucks.
We are investing in innovative solutions, aimed at optimizing our operational performance and therefore reducing our environmental footprint. Our solutions include:
- Intelligent routing
- Quantity forecasting and modelling to optimize filling trucks and reducing deliveries
