CEVA Logistics in Greater China has launched an innovative transport service connecting China to Laos. The solution features comprehensive multimodal logistics including pick-up from multiple cities in China, direct block train transport and complete warehousing and delivery services throughout Laos. This door-to-door solution operates within a 13-day transit time and features 4-5 monthly departures from Putian, China to Muang Xay, Laos.
An energy sector customer managing infrastructure projects in Laos needed a comprehensive door-to-door solution that would not only meet tight delivery requirements but also reduce costs compared to full-route trucking transportation.
CEVA’s integrated ground plus rail multimodal solution delivered immediate operational improvements for our customer. The new service provided 40% cost savings compared to traditional full-route truck transportation while reducing overall carbon emissions and only extending the delivery time by 3 to 4 days. Beyond transport, CEVA’s comprehensive logistics services, including unloading, storage and local distribution, created a seamless supply chain experience with full visibility and control. This optimized logistics approach enabled our customer to meet critical project timelines more efficiently while significantly reducing overall logistics costs.
CEVA offers a variety of block train solutions from China to Laos, to meet customers’ complex needs. Additionally, the service extends its reach to other Southeast Asian countries, including rail and road transport to Thailand, and road transport to Malaysia, providing an optimized alternative to traditional sea transport.
