A global technology company that designs, engineers and manufacturers car solutions for vehicle manufacturers needed an immediate next-day solution to move automotive parts from China to the U.S. to avoid total plant shutdown.

 

Business challenges 

The customer reached out to CEVA Logistics for a fast solution and the CEVA Time Critical team confirmed air shipping would be the fastest method; however, regular air shipping would be too slow. CEVA TIME CRITICAL air service would best meet the customer's emergency requirement and guarantee a Next Flight Out solution.

Key actions

Within 30 minutes of the customer call, the team provided a complete and costed solution for approval. Within 5 minutes of the customer approval, the team collected the automotive parts from the shipper's location and commenced the project.

By partnering with the best global airlines, CEVA guaranteed the safe delivery of the customers' cargo within this demanding timeframe and designed a Time Critical solution comprised of hand carry/On Board Courier service, two dedicated couriers, and the border crossing into Hong Kong.

One dedicated courier managed the domestic flight between China and Shenzhen. The local team arranged border crossing into Hong Kong, followed by the second courier, who managed the international flight from Hong Kong > to Los Angeles > to El Paso.

TANGIBLE RESULTS

The result was that the customer received their shipment and continued manufacturing their product, and avoided a plant shutdown.
