Delivering 51 tons of fresh flowers from Colombia to Brazil

CEVA successfully executed a complex international air freight operation, transporting 51 tons of fresh flowers from Colombia to Brazil. Leveraging three years of specialized expertise in flower charter operations in the area, CEVA mobilized the entire logistics operation in just one week, requiring intense negotiations with customers, airlines and international partners to secure a dedicated charter flight despite limited freighter availability. The team coordinated with flower farms to accommodate the short 2–3-day window between harvesting and shipping, receiving final product quantities and shipping paperwork just hours before departure, while managing complex logistics involving multiple customers, customs authorities and agricultural departments across the two countries.

To ensure product integrity through the journey, CEVA implemented comprehensive temperature management protocols with all shipping documentation specifying the critical temperature range of between 2°C to 8°C. The dedicated aircraft was configured to maintain optimal temperature conditions throughout the 5-hour flight, and upon arrival, CEVA teams supervised the cargo unloading process to ensure proper handling. A temperature-controlled storage facility was arranged to store the sensitive cargo during customs inspections by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture.
