Our customer's business challenges

Our customer runs a complex operation with production facilities and suppliers across India and finished products destined for a range in manufacturing plants across the USA.

Shipping from this large number of sites had become inefficient. But due to the way it operated suppliers and plants, there was little opportunity to optimize volumes.

Our key actions to meet our customers' expectations

CEVA worked very closely with the customers’ suppliers and designed pick-up schedules based on reverse engineering in accordance with sailings and cut-offs.

We also created two ocean consolidation facilities at India’s largest container port, Nhava Sheva, outside Mumbai in the west and at Chennai on the east coast. Within these facilities we are now able to receive loose LTL cargo directly from all shippers.

With these centralized consolidation services we were then able to combine LCL shipments into FCL ones making them suitable to be shipped on direct carrier contracts.

We delivered this with focussed, dedicated staff who were able to execute order-level routing instructions and co-ordinate with the shipping lines.

TANGIBLE RESULTS

The results have had a powerful impact on the customer’s business through the elimination of thousands of separate LCL shipments and destination files.

Through the impeccable execution of our solutions we have been able to significantly reduce DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million).

By instilling compliance into the entire process and using robust work instructions along with related audit processes we have eliminated destination penalties and fines by authorities.
The whole solution is kept on track through regular updates and KPI monitoring at every stage.
