A solar specialist which used many ports and inland container depots needed to improve his overall transportation set up in order to ensure new vendors could work on his products. Peak season would create additional challenges.
This solar specialist customer required much improved vendor arrangements in order to streamline his transportation processes. Trailers had to be organized to accommodate much greater volumes, especially during the peak season. Additional manpower was needed for the loading equipment arrangement at the various remote locations. Bookings needed to be set up and aligned as per customer expectations and all the sites and local staff had to be briefed and organized to ensure they had the right equipment.
CEVA started by meeting all the local players and gave them a full introduction to the company so they understood the specialized work involved.
Next our on-site team visited all the ports and Inland Container Depots and arranged trailers from those same locations and nearby transport hubs.
We then employed experienced manpower – people who had already worked on similar projects, and hired them as per the project requirements.
We also engaged with various shipping lines and matched the target bookings with relevant services.
Accommodate much greater volumes for peak season
And greater profit margin
CEVA’s project implementation resulted in increased volumes and a greater profit margin for the customer. New specialized vendors now work on the panels. CEVA itself has become the preferred logistics partner for the Solar EPC company.
