A young company with a rich history
CEVA Logistics is a young company, however, its distinguished parentage and entrepreneurial spirit can be traced back to 1946.
1946In Australia, Ken Thomas founded Thomas Nationwide Transport (TNT) with a single truck. Over the next 50 years, TNT gained a worldwide reputation, particularly in the field of contract logistics.
1984EGL was created in Houston, Texas and within 15 years had become a global force in cargo management, with a presence in more than 100 countries.
1996TNT was acquired by the Dutch company KPN and was divided into three divisions: Logistics, Express and Post.
2006TNT Logistics was sold to Apollo Management LP in New York and was renamed CEVA Logistics. Six months later Apollo acquired EGL and merged it with CEVA Logistics.
2014Since 2014 CEVA Logistics has undergone various business transformations until its IPO in 2018.
2018CEVA Logistics was listed on the SIX Swiss Stock Exchange.
2019Acquisition by CMA CGM, a global shipping group, to form a strategic partnership to offer end-to-end solutions to their partners. CEVA Logistics became a fully-owned subsidiary of CMA CGM.
July 2019CEVA Logistics unveiled its new logo and brand identity.
October 2019CMA CGM’s cargo management activities (including CClog, LCL Logistix, ANL Log) and USL cargo services (CClog) fell under the aegis of CEVA.
October 2019CEVA is delisted from SIX Swiss Exchange.
November 2019Inauguration of the new headquarters in Marseille.
January 2020Mathieu Friedberg was appointed CEO of CEVA Logistics.
June 2020CEVA Logistics acquires AMI Worldwide, Manica, and IBA, adds locations from CMA CGM Inland Services, and strikes joint venture with MACCFA to further expand across Africa.
June 2021Gartner positions CEVA Logistics in the Leaders corner of the 2021 Magic Quadrant Third-Party Logistics, Worldwide.
April 2022CEVA Logistics has completed the acquisition of the majority of Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services (CLS) business and leading last mile provider Colis Privé.
July 2022CEVA Logistics has completed the acquisition of GEFCO and continues Africa expansion with Spedag Interfreight acquisition.
November 2023 CEVA Logistics completes the acquisition of Stellar Value Chain Solutions in India to expand presence in the IMEA region.
February 2024The CMA CGM Group completes the acquisition of Bolloré Logistics. CEVA gains significant scale and industry experience in air and ocean freight management.
TodayCEVA Logistics has a global workforce of more than 110,000 people across 1,500 sites and more than 170 countries.
