Sandra McKenzie-Day, Head of HR UK&I, announced the launch of the Women's Empowerment Network during a very special event held at our HQ in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. 50 CEVA colleagues, customers, suppliers and senior leadership team members participated in this wonderful initiative, which also featured an opportunity to network over lunch.
In the session, co-hosts Suzanne Chapman, our Head of Finance Operations UK&I and Katie Rodham, Head of HSEQ UK&I shared their experiences of being female in a male dominated environment as well as discussing the gender imbalance in our industry and how they have challenged the norm.
Our guest speakers Bethany Windsor Deputy Director of the Chartered Institute of Transport & Generation Logistics talked about future young female talent in logistics and Nicola Smith partner at major law firm Squires, Patton & Boggs shared the key gender equality initiatives she is leading.
The Women’s Empowerment Network features initiatives that will have a huge impact on women within the industry and help shape their future experiences.
Chris Walton, our Managing Director UK&I, opened this milestone event and talked about his commitment to supporting our future plans on this important topic. Chris comments, “I was thrilled to be able to attend the Women's Empowerment Network's launch, meeting with suppliers, customers, colleagues and our guest speakers. I am extremely grateful to those in our organisation who have contributed significantly to our journey on the important topic of gender equality. I am determined to lead our company with this topic at the forefront, with the support of colleagues who are bringing it to life. We are just getting started, but we have some incredible plans in the works, with the Women's Empowerment Network being a key milestone.”
