Two CEVA Logistics Leaders Receive 2023 Women in Supply Chain Award

CEVA Logistics is proud to share that Alejandra Lopez Orantes, head of sales for Mexico, and Maja Konrad, director of transportation excellence and operations, were both named as recipients of the 2023 Women in Supply Chain Award by Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

The award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network. CEVA is thrilled to see two representatives from North America recognized for their talents and contributions to the logistics and supply chain industry.

MEET ALEJANDRA

Alejandra has spent more than a decade of her career with CEVA, starting as a logistics coordinator. From there, she moved through the ranks of operations manager, station manager and regional general manager before being promoted to head of sales for Mexico. Her leadership in the country has resulted in 100% growth over the past two years.

When asked about her greatest challenge and proudest moment at work, she said, “During the pandemic, I built and led a cross-functional team, while delivering excellent customer service and outstanding business results. This required coordinating efforts, managing conflicting priorities and ensuring that everyone was aligned around our growth goals. Outperforming expectations and seeing the team overcome obstacles together reinforced the importance of collaboration, communication and perseverance in achieving and exceeding our targets. The experience taught me that with dedication and a strong team, even the most dauting challenges can be conquered.”

MEET MAJA

Maja joined CEVA through its acquisition of Ingram Micro CLS in early 2022. While at Ingram Micro, she led pricing strategies and added new streams of revenue that grew the company’s Shipwire product line from $20M to $250M in eight years. Maja has volunteered as a mentor for the nonprofit, Girls Inc., and her talent, commitment and determination are demonstrated through her impressive career trajectory.

When asked to share what she wants women in the logistics and supply chain industry to know, she said, “In the words of Sheryl Sandberg, ‘We've got to get women to sit at the table.’ It is important for women to explore careers that have been traditionally male dominated. Only through diversity, new perspectives and different experiences can we disrupt and grow this industry to the next level.”

ABOUT THE AWARD

Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief, Supply & Demand Chain Executive, said:
“This year, we received over 400 submissions, the highest amount of applications not only for this award, but also for all of our awards. What’s more, 118 of those applications were submitted by male counterparts, nominating their boss, co-worker or associate. Last year, that figure was just at 75. Also this year, 39 women self-nominated, a tremendous uptick from last year’s award, which just saw 12 self-nominations. This shows progress. This shows hope that one day, we won’t need an award like this because men and women in the supply chain will be equal.”
