  • CEVA’s first implementation of Master Pick Tote solution, utilizing market-leading technology, processes and automation
  • Optimized site location, processes and co-designed sustainable packaging considerably reduce Under Armour’s U.K. environmental footprint

Ashby de la Zouch, U.K., May 11, 2021 – CEVA Logistics announced today that it has completed a successful Zero Defects Start-up for the full omni-channel distribution of Under Armour’s sports apparel products in the U.K. This milestone follows CEVA’s implementation of Under Armour’s U.K. e-commerce business as part of an on-going, multi-year contract.

Up to 200 employees now operate from CEVA Logistics’ dedicated 75,000-square-foot distribution center in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire. The site has been completely modernized for, and dedicated to, the Under Armour omni-channel Contract Logistics business. The facility features a range of technology and automation solutions, including a Master Pick Tote solution, an inbound sorter, powered conveying, automated guided vehicle (AGV) enabled lift trucks, Nerak lift systems, multiple storage media (including Storeganizer for returns), Put-To-Light Walls, Auto-baggers, an outbound sorter and the latest in warehouse management, control and execution technology. These innovations make it one of the most modern and operationally efficient omni-channel sites in the country, allowing Under Armour to significantly accelerate the B2C and B2B fulfilment time, while reducing potential errors. The location of the distribution center enables Under Armour to substantially improve its wholesale customer experience, decreasing lead time from 10 working days to 2-3 working days.

Chris Walton, Managing Director U.K. and Ireland for CEVA Logistics comments: “Since signing the initial contract with Under Armour last July, we successfully managed their e-commerce channel through cyber week and the peak trading season, delivering a Zero Defects Start-up. Sustainability was one of the key decision factors when Under Armour chose to base its inventory, previously located in the Netherlands, closer to U.K. consumers. Our teams have also worked closely together to put in place a sustainable packaging model, with the aim of eliminating plastic from the delivery chain wherever possible.”

Craig Jones, Under Armour Senior Vice President Global Distribution & Logistics comments: “Under Armour continues to invest in its OMNI capabilities across the globe and values the U.K. as a strategic market to develop further its wholesale service model and Direct to Consumer experience. Adding this capability to the U.K. further strengthens our commitment to sustainability, speed to market and as an enabler for a world class customer experience.”
