The Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 are arguably the most impressive demonstration of athletic achievement and cultural diversity. In Paris 2024, more than 200 nations converged, showcasing a merging of culture and language to celebrate sports. One of the most unique ways spectators could immerse themselves in this global gathering was La Villette Nations Park—a unique cultural hub where fifteen country pavilions offered visitors cultural experiences, artistic displays and traditional foods.
As the Official Partner in logistics solutions for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, CEVA Logistics played a crucial role in orchestrating the complex logistical operations behind the scenes. Our scope extended beyond the Olympic and Paralympic Villages and sports complexes to include the intricate task of bringing these country pavilions to life. CEVA deployed logistics and expertise to support the country pavilions as China, India and Slovakia.
The Chinese pavilion presented a significant logistical challenge due to its large and unconventional dimensions. CEVA took charge of the critical task of transporting the heavy structure from its arrival point at the Port of Le Havre to its final destination on the Champs-Elysées. Using a crane to move the structure from the port to a CEVA truck, our team ensured the smooth execution to create the base of China’s impressive display.
The Indian pavilion, with its elaborate décor, required a comprehensive logistics solutions to ensure the timely delivery and coordination of all necessary items on the ground in Paris. CEVA’s role extended beyond transportation, supporting the logistics operations of the pavilion displays including marketing materials and products used to decorate the space. This multifaceted project required nearly fifteen CEVA employees to navigate the complexities of time-critical ground deliveries, while also facilitating customs procedures to ensure smooth and efficient delivery to the pavilion site.
For the Slovak pavilion, CEVA’s expertise in international transport facilitated the seamless delivery of artwork, booth structures and decorations. Our global team in Slovakia and France partnered together to ensure that every element arrived safely and on schedule. By utilizing a combination of ground transport, warehousing services and specialized equipment handling, we successfully brought the vision of the Slovak pavilion to life.
Managing the logistics for these three country pavilions demonstrates CEVA's unique position at the intersection of global logistics and culture. CEVA is a company built on diversity and culture, representing 170 countries through our 110,000 global employees. Applying our logistical expertise to bring culture to life at the Olympic and Paralympic Games is a demonstration of our company values and services.
