CEVA Logistics latest customer advisory information related to ocean shipments in the Red Sea
1/5/2024

Update on Red Sea Force Majeure Situation - Jan. 5, 2024

CEVA Logistics continues to closely monitor the on-going crisis unfolding in and around the Red Sea. The related risks to seafarers, vessels and cargo remain heightened following continued recent attacks. As a result, CEVA remains in a force majeure situation. We will continue to communicate with carrier partners related to affected routings and with customers related to their specific shipments currently underway. We are also proactively providing alternative solutions—including sea-air options—to prepare for the pre-Chinese New Year period.

The Situation in the Red Sea and Notice of Force Majeure – Dec. 18, 2023

We are closely monitoring the events unfolding right now in the Red Sea. The reported attacks on commercial shipping vessels are leading many of our ocean shipping partners to take preventative measures to ensure the safety of their crews, vessels and customer shipments. In addition, some carriers are adding related surcharges. We do expect some delays due to re-routed vessels, and we are optimizing route decisions accordingly.

We are maintaining close contact with ocean carriers and our customers during this evolving situation. As more information becomes available, we will communicate proactively with customers who have impacted shipments. In addition, we are developing alternative solutions, including combinations of air, sea, rail and ground transport to ensure we can offer our customers the agility and resilience needed to continue operating amid disruptions in the global supply chain.
