Our low carbon transport solutions within CEVA FORPLANET focus on three key areas: measuring, optimizing and shifting to sustainable, low carbon transport options. Through innovative approaches like modal shift and alternative fuels, we're transforming the future of logistics. 

Our impact speaks for itself. In the last year alone, we avoided more than 26,000 tons of emissions through the use of over 10 million liters of sustainable maritime and aviation fuels. And our vehicle fleet includes more than 1,000 electric and low carbon vehicles across our ground operations.

Measure

We provide unprecedented visibility into your logistics operations’ carbon footprint through our myCEVA digital platform. From pre-booking to delivery, you receive detailed assessments of expected CO2 emissions for each transport request, complete with analysis of transportation modes and carrier options. Our advanced technology delivers accurate CO2e calculations and extensive end-to-end reporting, ensuring you have the data needed for proper environmental reporting and decision-making.

Optimize

Our optimization services focus on redesigning your supply chain for maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact. We analyze and enhance your logistics flows, loading practices, and routing strategies. Through solutions like shared FCL containers and real-time assessments, we help you find the optimal balance between transit time, carbon emissions and cost. Our advanced technology provides thorough evaluations to determine the most efficient routing options. 

Shift

We reduce transport carbon emissions through three main levers:

• Modal shift: We develop solutions tailored to your unique business needs that balance carbon reductions, cost, transit time and reliability. We achieve this through adjusting the modes of transport used in shipments—whether that is shifting air to ocean, road to rail or barge, or a combination of different modes like our Sea-Air combined solution. For example, by using a single block train, we remove the equivalent of 25 trucks from the road, reducing emissions and congestion by up to 90%.

• Intra-modal shift: We enable carrier allocation to shift to more efficient transport by adjusting variables like vessel or aircraft type, fuel type, and more. We continue to explore innovative solutions like wind propulsion as we move forward in pushing the boundaries of sustainable transport.

• Alternative fuel: Biofuels are an alternative to traditional fossil fuels, providing immediate benefits for your logistics operations without compromising on reliability or efficiency. CEVA Logistics works closely with shipping and airline companies to support you in significantly reducing your carbon footprint by giving you the option of choosing alternative fuel for both maritime and airfreight shipments. For road transport, CEVA leverages vehicles powered by biofuel, electricity and biogas to reduce emissions for transporting your goods.
