CEVA Logistics history

CEVA was founded in 1946, in Australia, by Ken Thomas who initially founded Nationwide Transport (TNT) with just one truck. Over a period of 50 years, TNT gained a worldwide reputation, especially in the field of contract logistics.

In 1984, EGL was founded in the United States and more specifically Houston, Texas. Within just 15 years, it became a global force in freight management.

TNT was acquired by the Dutch company KPN in 1996 and divided into three divisions: Logistics, Express and Post.

In 2006, TNT Logistics was sold to Apollo Management LP in New York, which renamed the company CEVA Logistics. EGL was acquired six months later and merged with CEVA Logistics.

Since May 2018, CEVA has been listed on SIX Swiss Exchange under ticker symbol CEVA.

In 2019, CGA CGM – a global marine freight management and service group – acquired CEVA to form a strategic partnership offering their partners end-to-end solutions. At the same time, CEVA Logistics unveiled a new brand identity and inaugurated its new headquarters in Marseille.

In January 2020, Mathieu Friedberg was appointed CEO of CEVA Logistics. Today, CEVA, a subsidiary of CMA CGM, is a full-service transport and logistics company offering freight management and contract logistics services in more than 1,000 locations in 160 countries around the world.
