YOUR ROLE

Coordinate and manage the CEVA CLL operations affecting Global Supply Chain per origin/destination region. The operational manager will provide managerial leadership to CLL control tower team executing global supply chain activities.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Supplier management & performance (origin)
  • Freight Management – air, ocean, ground
  • Carrier / Forwarder Management and Performance
  • Event Disruption
  • Crisis Management
  • Milestone Management
  • Review ocean delays with associated reason codes and work on diversions
  • Lead the review of rejected carrier bookings and create alternative plans leveraging BI / Dashboard tools
  • Understand gaps within the ocean network (equipment, blank sailings, capacity)
  • Assess spot buy process and analyze trends to reduce spend
  • Present valuable market insight to forecast market issues
  • Ensure continuous improvement of product cycle times through analysis of service time expectations versus actual cycle time performance, identify the root cause of problem areas and implement effective solutions
  • Improve margin by identifying “scope creep” for additional accessorial services provided to the customer outside the terms of the original customer contract and negotiating with the customer for reimbursement of the additional costs
  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of global ocean projects to ensure customer expectations are exceeded (i.e. MGOB changes, transit time analysis)
  • Evaluate, define, recommend and implement systems and processes that streamline and improve on-time service delivery and data integrity
  • Develop continuous improvement methodology and implement and utilize (KPI’s) key performance indicators to drive and quantify cost optimization while maintaining quality service and customer satisfaction, including carrier o- time performance, origin & destination dwell, plus ad-hoc requests
  • Review and evaluate P&L performance
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines, and all applicable laws and regulatory guidelines

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum ten years working in transportation, freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain management required
  • Minimum ten years industry experience preferred
  • Minimum seven to ten years in a supervisory role required

Skills:

  • Extensive expertise and knowledge of transportation, logistics and supply chain operations management, operations, products and services
  • Worldwide market knowledge and commercial understanding
  • Requires above average communication skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization, and to work effectively with managers and customers
  • Ability to forecast and plan over a 0-3 year time span
  • Experience with, or ability to understand, commercial implications of solutions proposed, potential areas of risk and methods to limit liabilities
  • Experienced in financial management (P & L, balance sheet, forecasting, and budgets) to effectuate return on investment
  • Proficient in project management methodologies with a focus on managing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals
  • Uncompromised integrity
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
