The Senior Finance Business / Business Analyst for North America is based in Houston, Texas, and reports to the Head of Operation Finance for North America. This individual contributor role is critical for gathering and analyzing data across PTP, OTC and freight management operational data. Using the analysis, the Analyst will engage with key stakeholders to translate the data into actions that enhance profitability and accuracy of financial results and mitigate financial risk.

The successful candidate will be a highly analytical, energetic, and motivated person who can consistently deliver exceptional results in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment while managing multiple assignments with competing needs. S/he will also have impeccable interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.




  • Analyze customer data to identify trends and financial exposure
  • Customer frequency above credit limits
  • Customers frequently past due
  • Reasons for customer disputed AR
  • Prepare and analyze invoice aging by product
  • Report and monitor timing of invoices to customers monthly
  • Prepare and monitor monthly credit notes issued


  • Analyze supplier data to identify trends and financial exposure
  • PTP first pass yield trends
  • Timeliness of vendor payments
  • Invoices on hold
  • Monitor and report on the aging of vendor invoices
  • Monitor and report on vendor SL debits
  • FM Operation Control:
  • Monitors P&L progress during current month, including
  • Shipment related losses and high profits in P&L
  • Dossiers not transferred to P&L
  • Monitor advances/accruals versus actual cost variances
  • Monitors posting timeliness across freight management systems, including:
  • Unbilled dossiers
  • Invoice delays / Late billings
  • Invoice accuracy / Credit note analysis
  • Audit field authorized changes to billings
  • Monitor and resolve custom duty imbalances on dossier level
  • Month end close assistance as necessary

Cash Management:

  • Maintain and monitor monthly cashflow variances to forecast
  • Prepare weekly pass-through charges report for corporate treasury
  • Other duties as assigned




Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, or related discipline required
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications
  • Advanced financial analysis experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Freight Forwarding/Logistics Industry Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principle and internal control design, implementation, and evaluation



  • Ability to establish effective working relation with both operations and finance
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Experienced in financial management: P&L’s, Balance Sheets, forecasting and budgets
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications
