CEVA Logistics' Global Finance team currently has an open position of Head of Business Control - Contract Logistics Product Line in our Global HQ in Marseille, France.

 

 

YOUR ROLE

  • Accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the Global Product Line, to include analysis and control of the Global Product Line group metrics tied to that business with revenues of more than $ 3 billion. Contract Logistics Product Line comprises Warehousing and Transportation activities 
  • Closely work and assist the global Product Line Leader and COO as well as the Head of Business Control to set business priorities and plans, establish KPIs, monitor performance, approve and support the development of customer contracts, identify and recommend potential operational efficiencies and improvements, educate and influence regional teams and pro-actively initiate and drive regional turnaround plans. 
  • Linking pin within a complex matrix organization representing the Product Line and Finance function towards over 50 country teams in particular the local Product Line leads and finance teams. Steer and challenge global Product Line teams.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Work with the Global Product Line Leader as well as the Head of Business Control to develop a Global Product Line plan and budget, establish KPIs in line with the Global Product Line strategy; ongoing analysis, monitoring and acting upon results; proactively identifying potential operational efficiencies or Global Product Line productivity improvements; review and assess global customer profitability.  Ensure ongoing communication of business results and potential issues to the Global Product Line Leader and leadership team and within the Finance community
  • Rigorously follow local operational KPIs, P&L’s and productivity performance at 6 regions, over 50 countries and more than 800 locations, identify exceptions and pro-actively develop remedial turnaround plans where required; ensure that adequate controls are installed, and that substantiating documentation is available. Increase visibility across the organization through site/station visits, lower communication barriers and share best practices
  • Linking pin within a complex, international matrix organization representing the Product Line Leader and Global Finance function towards over 50 country teams in particular the local Product Line leads and finance teams. Listen, consult, educate and steer countries on behalf of the Product Line Leader and Head of Business Control
  • Educate and coach country FD’s and finance organizations on Global Product Line requirements and improvements. Act as first line point of contact to support regional FD’s on various business matters
  • Support the development and negotiation of contracts and continuously assess the effectiveness of them, proactively putting forward proposals to improve Global Product Line performance, profitability and cash performance
  • Reduce “waste” on Intercompany disputes, internal policies and procedures. Drive streamlining and uniformity across country and Product Line organizations
  • Challenge, cooperate, instruct and align with other Executive Board members/ functions impacting the Product Line operations (e.g. Product Line strategy alignment with BD, FTE reporting improvements HR) and investments (ICAPs)
  • Close the gap between Product Line functions and Finance interests, in the management on the supplier side and jointly develop action strategies on reducing supplier costs, improve working capital terms and fairer distribution of benefits
  • Develop a globally coherent Product Line and Finance IT system landscape and roadmap. Drive coherence, compliance and adaptation across countries
  • Responsible for Product Line cost centre budget (c. 60 employees) and drive the performance versus budget
  • Proactively represent the Global Product Line group within the Global Finance community by providing input/making recommendations on global system metrics, KPIs etc to ensure continuous improvement in the financial advice and support to the business   

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master's degree preferred at an accredited college or university
  • Double Master’s degree at an accredited college or university very beneficial
  • 5 years financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of an organization with more than $1 billion turnover
  • Experience in large multinational required
  • Financial planning and analysis or financial controlling experience            
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Supply chain industry experience
  • Proven success strengthening the relationship between finance and the business            
  • Communicate effectively in both written and spoken English;  other European languages advantageous
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and influence across an international, complex matrix organization
  • Position requires an individual who can balance strategy with transformation, be adept in an evolving fast paced work environment, and often work under tight deadlines with changing requirements
