In Italy, this commitment was recognized by Assologistica in 2023, when CEVA Logistics received the prestigious Logistics of the Year Award for Innovation in Training Category for its LEAD@CEVA  leadership training and development program. 
 

What is LEAD@CEVA? 

LEAD@CEVA is a leadership training and development program designed by CEVA to include academic courses from the POLIMI Graduate School of Management, the business school of Milan Polytechnic. It was launched in Italy in 2022, to accompany the professional evolution of its employees and enhance the necessary skills for assuming leadership positions within the company.  In our pursuit of empowering the growth of our employees through learning, LEAD@CEVA naturally emerges as a vital component, because it resonates with our core values. It symbolizes our commitment to creating an environment where every person matters, where growth is encouraged, and where success is defined by the collective achievements of our team.  

The program aims to provide local CEVA managers in Italy with the essential skills required for effective decision-making and successful group leadership. Specifically, courses on leadership and people management focus on leadership skills and optimal team management, from motivation to emotional intelligence. Participants have the opportunity to choose additional topics for in-depth exploration based on their needs.

The first wave launched in 2022, with 36 people and the second started in October 2023, expanding its reach to 47 people after the success of the first group. 

The program provides two different learning paths addressed to two different profiles and their specific development needs:

  • People Manager to be: Individuals who currently do not hold a managerial role but demonstrate potential and are involved in a succession pipeline.
  • People Manager Today: People who are currently managers (managing people) and are in charge in key role involved in org. changes\promotion. 

The innovation in the training course appears in the selection of the candidates, the analysis of their development needs and the path the courses take, always starting with “Self-Awareness” and “Emotional Intelligence” before moving to more mature themes of people management or leadership competencies. An additional Mentoring module within CEVA completes the whole development cycle.
