One shining example of our commitment to these values is our Ground & Rail Supervisor, Julia Ribeiro, who is based in Mozambique and plays a crucial role in managing our ground & rail operations in the Southern Africa region. Julia is a true leader who is unafraid to think outside of the box and find innovative solutions to complex challenges. As a woman in logistics, she stands her ground and is a role model to others in the industry.
Recently, Julia spearheaded a block-train operation from Mozambique to Zimbabwe that was a huge success. She booked an entire cargo train for 36 containers. The challenge was to have enough wagons available at once to load all the cargo. It was a very fun operation, and the aim is to have weekly block trains riding on this corridor. It is not very common in Africa that a logistics company has the opportunity to rent a whole cargo train and it was made possible through Julia's boldness and imagination.
