Material Management & Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) Solutions include control, maintenance and integrity of all the information flows between the OEM suppliers and service providers. Material Management represents the comprehensive control of all information used to manage the material requirements from suppliers to the point of installation on the production line. This includes material scheduling, release, follow up and inventory management.
The LLP concept is based upon the total management of the supply chain and the logistics providers within it. Within this provision an LLP can be a 3PL carrying out activities using its own resources and assets or a 4PL directing the resources and assets of other 3PLs, freight forwarders or carriers. In practice an LLP can be a 3PL, 4PL or both.
