BANGKOK, Thailand, May 28th, 2008 - CEVA Logistics one of the leading supply chain companies in the world has announced airfreight growth of 26% in Thailand propelling it to the number one position in the International Transport Air Association (IATA) ranking for 2007.
"CEVA's table-topping sales volume of 2.88 billion baht (57 million euros) is a result of understanding our customers' needs," says Roy Tan, CEVA Thailand's Country Manager Freight. "CEVA Thailand's focus on key segments of growth such as automotive, information technology and healthcare has paid dividends, resulting in it being only one of three companies in the top ten to record growth."
"A big reason we are number one in airfreight today is that we understand our customers' business and their needs and how to make their business flow. If you look from sector to sector you will find that different criteria create different priorities for each sector," continues Tan. According to Tan, while companies may change airfreight forwarders frequently to achieve lower costs, others find greater success entering into longer-term relationships in which they treat their forwarders as partners.
Tan added, "The outsourcing of logistics is growing significantly in Thailand and that growth has made us number one in the air cargo market. We are able to provide complete solutions for our customers." Tan explained that the company's relationship with airlines was crucial to the growth, "Our Asia Pacific regional office works closely with us to ensure our global relationships with airlines continue to offer maximum benefits for our customers."
In terms of air freight services, CEVA offers the widest and most comprehensive range. It provides coverage to more than 100 countries, courier or hand-carried services, critical response services for urgent shipping needs, door-to-door or airport-to-airport or combination services, oversized cargo services and even worldwide charter services.
