BANGKOK, February 27- CEVA Logistics Thailand has been awarded a three-year logistics service renewal contract with Central Food Retail; the leading supermarket company in Thailand. Central Food Retail is part of the Central Retail Company, Thailand's leading retailer.
CEVA has managed Central Food Retail's temperature controlled store delivery operation since December 2004 and the renewal is testament to CEVA's focus on provision of value-added partnerships as well as the company's strong business relationship.
Under the terms of the contract extension, CEVA will manage and operate the delivery of fresh food to Tops' branches throughout Bangkok and to proximity stores. CEVA will operate a fleet of advanced lightweight, temperature controlled, refrigerated vehicles. The company's integrated scope of services includes "in body" temperature monitoring systems and the backhaul of returns as well as on site fleet maintenance.
Alistair Taylor, Senior Vice President Operations & Business Support of Central Food Retail Company Limited, said: "We decided to extend our contract with CEVA based on CEVA's proven expertise to deftly manage the complexity of fresh food distribution. They have provided us, Central Food Retail, with the service we require, ensuring that our and our customers' demands are met. Any company which operates in a dynamic environment such as Thailand needs their partners to be readily adaptable whilst ensuring that they maintain their efficiencies and standards.
CEVA Logistics Thailand's Managing Director, Winfried Kiesbueye, said: "The operational capability that CEVA has demonstrated to Tops in the past three years has shown the proven benefits of working with a professional logistics partner, and the value it brings in growing a business.
