CEVA Logistics Operates New Local Distribution Center for Fiat

Frankfurt, 22nd January 2009 - CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company is responsible for the Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat's newly opened local distribution center. The contract, valid as of 12th January 2009, provides complete warehousing and supply of automotive spare parts for northwestern Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands.

The logistics center, with approximate 13,000 square meters of storage area, is located in what is currently one of Duisburg's most in-demand logistics locations, the Logport. A stock of around 30,000 of the Italian automobile manufacturer's parts is planned. Due to the convenient transportation connections, orders - independent of their size - can be delivered on the same day within a radius of 90 kilometers. Otherwise, delivery is guaranteed by the next day. CEVA Logistics is creating a total of 69 jobs, of which 60 are in the operative sector.

Fiat is already a CEVA customer in Italy. In order to ensure a high quality level for the company beyond all borders, a team of German and Italian colleagues inspected Fiat's distribution and logistics model and together worked on a custom solution. Based on CEVA's Operations Excellence Strategy a fluent start up has been guaranteed. "For our company it was vital that we work with a reliable logistics partner. CEVA Logistics has produced a comprehensive service package that is oriented to our sustainable company policy and with which we will be able to satisfy each of our customers individually," Frank Kremer, head of logistics parts and services for Fiat, explained.
