DIADEMA, São Paulo, Brazil, July 3rd, 2008 - Aiming at replicating in Brazil one of its main expertise in Europe, the Contract Logistics division of CEVA Logistics - one of the leading supply chain companies in the world - announces it was awarded a new publishing & media sector contract. The operations for Zero Hora daily - the main newspaper in the Southern region of Brazil with approximately 180.000 papers distributed every day - covers the whole of Rio Grande do Sul state.
CEVA is responsible for the distribution starting at the graphic parks of Porto Alegre and Cruz Alta to distributors located in urban routes and the countryside. The fleet at Zero Hora's disposal mounts to 40 vehicles, which will be monitored through satellites. This will enable the customer to keep track of the delivery in the country routes and performance indicators all over the process.
Paulo Franceschini, Business Development Director of CEVA Logistics for South America, highlights the importance of the new contract: "CEVA's objective is to diversify its performance. So, we use CEVA's know-how in other countries such as United Kingdom and Italy and apply it in Brazil. This experience was key for us to initiate our partnership with the first customer in publishing, Infoglobo; and now, Zero Hora. The expectation is to increase our revenue on this sector until the end of this year."
