Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, 28 October 2010 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has extended its agreement with KPN, the leading telecoms operator in The Netherlands, for a further three years.
The partnership, which started in 2003, involves CEVA providing inbound services, warehousing and order processing, distribution services and returns processing to KPN. These processes are supported by a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that has been fully integrated with a host of KPN systems. These core services are complemented with special air and ocean services, full secure deliveries and other extended services that are tailored to KPN’s specific requirements.
Under the new agreement KPN and CEVA will create an infrastructure in which the latest technology for sustainability will be incorporated. This will result in significant improvements in energy efficiency and will include sustainable power generation. This should bring the operation closer to the ultimate goal of CO2 neutrality.
Baptiest Coopmans, Executive Board Member of KPN said: “The continuation of our partnership with CEVA is an important step in our quest for efficiency and customer service. In the very competitive telecoms market, customer service and flexible fulfilment solutions are crucial. In the preceding years KPN was able to expand the partnership with CEVA and include new product lines and additional services. As true partners we have a high level of process integration to ensure seamless processes and data exchange. For the coming years we have set ourselves ambitious targets for further optimization of operations.”
Pierre Girardin, Managing Director of CEVA, Benelux & France said: “We are delighted that KPN has entrusted us with the continued management of their supply chain. We will be able to celebrate our 10 year anniversary together. This early extension demonstrates the high service levels we have provided combined with our Operations Excellence program that have delivered year-on-year benefits for KPN. We are looking forward to the next phase of our cooperation, which will bring us to the next level of excellence.”
